Quebec City believe it or not was founded in 1608 and is actually the only walled city in North America with cobblestone lanes and quaint 17th and 18th century houses. In 1985 Quebec city was awarded UNESCO world heritage status. The fine art gallery at the Citadel fortress is a must to visit, along with the Basilica and Cycloroma which has attracted many pilgrims over the times. Apart from the old town you can visit the Ile d’Orleans  ( island ) and discover its wonderful architecture, history, culture and heritage. A short trip outside of Quebec and you can visit the stunning Montmorency Falls. Quebec city has been ranked the 4th best tourist destination and the 6th best worldwide city to visit in recent years.
