Fly Drive/Self Drive in Canada - Quebec: The Great Adventure

Welcome to Hooked on Canada Holidays. We have prepared a fabulous multi-activity fly drive tour around Quebec. Most activities in Canada are provide by what is called an Outfitter. An outfitter is an estate situated deep in the forest where you can stay and practice your favourite outdoor activities. These are former private hunting and fishing clubs that are now open to the public. We have selected some of the most beautiful ones for your enjoyment both for the areas they cover as well as the originality and quality of accommodation they provide. This great Adventure tour is  for people who want to live in close contact with nature and are looking for a little excitement in there holiday to Canada.

Day 1 - Montreal Montmorency Falls Quebec
Arrive into Montreal and pick up your rental car, see details on our Car Rental. Before setting off on your adventure spend time in this wonderful city.

Day 2 - Montreal/ Mont-Laurier 160 miles 255 km drive
We now leave civilization behind for a safari photo of the black bear. 

Days 3 and 4 - Mont-Laurier
Wake up early so that you can observe a herd of moose and  do some beaver watching.   Guided canoeing activities, mountain biking and hiking awaits you as you wish. 

Day 5 - Mont-Laurier/ Grandes-Piles 250 miles 400 km
This morning set off on your wonderful drive along beautiful roads in the wilderness which will take you to the land of the raftmen. You will stay in a heritage mansion on the banks of the Maurice River.  

Day 6 - Grandes-Piles
A most picturesque log cabin will be your point of departure for an expedition into the peace and quiet of the forest.  Dinner of wild meat.

Day 7 - Grandes-Piles/ Ste-Rose-du-Nord  270 miles 435 km
Today you'll travel along the St-Maurice River, which runs through the heart of the Laurentian Mountains up to Lac-St-Jean, Quebec's inland sea, before reaching the largest inland fjord in the world, the Saguenay. 

Day 8 - Ste-Rose-du-Nord
Imagine both feet in the water right in the middle of a turbulent river, dressed as a salmon fisherman, holding a fishing rod, admiring the beauty of the surroundings, listening to the advice of the guide who alone interrupts the silence. 

Day 9 - Ste-Rose-du-Nord/ St-Urbain   146 miles 235 km
Another beautiful day driving through the wilderness that will bring you to the wonderful region of  Charlevoix.

Day 10 - St-Urbain
Protected by UNESCO because of its natural treasures and rich cultural heritage, the Charlevoix region consists of many areas of lost paradise that you are invited to discover. 

Day 11 - St-Urbain/ Quebec City 78 miles 125km Family Canoe Quebec
At Last a Date at the National Capital! Explore this wonderful city .

Day 12 - Quebec City
Go for a tour of the Ile d'Orleans, or  to the Montmorency Falls as well.  For ideas of things to see and do see our Quebec City break

Day 13 - Quebec City/ Montreal 162 miles 260 km
Returning to Montreal, its up to you to discover all the other attractions which gives the city the name of "the city of 100 steeples". 

Day 14 – Montreal Departure or extended stay 
Return of your vehicle.
